Monthly website plan or one-time build? What each costs in Canada
Subscription websites spread the cost and bundle hosting, edits and support. A one-off build costs more on day one and usually less over time — if you don't need constant changes. Here's the maths with published prices.

Canadian monthly plans we checked include Affordable Sites (C$25–C$125 a month with domain and hosting) and Web Design Packages (C$97–C$279 a month, no setup costs). They bundle hosting and a set amount of updates. A SIX9 build is C$169, C$299 or C$449 once, with hosting and a domain paid separately — about C$784 over 3 years for Launch on our assumptions, versus C$2,700 for a C$75-a-month plan and C$900 for the 1-page C$25 plan.

Assumptions behind these numbers
- SIX9 website packages don't include hosting or a domain. We assume hosting at C$15 a month and a domain at C$25 a year. That's an assumption, not a quote — your costs may be lower or higher.
- Subscriptions include ongoing edits, support and hosting that a one-off build doesn't. Their totals buy more service, not just a website.
- Changes to a SIX9 site after launch are quoted before any work, so they aren't in these totals.
- Taxes are shown as each provider publishes them.

How each model works
A subscription website bundles the build with hosting, security, edits and support for a monthly fee. What happens to the site, the content and the domain if you stop paying depends on each provider's terms.
A one-off build is paid once. You then pay for hosting and a domain, and for any changes you ask for later. Once a SIX9 project is fully paid, the finished website is yours, subject to any third-party licence restrictions.

Is a pay-monthly website a bad idea?
No. It's a good fit if you want changes, hosting and support handled for you and prefer a predictable monthly cost. It usually costs more over several years, so compare totals and read the cancellation terms.
What does SIX9 charge after launch?
There's no SIX9 subscription. Hosting and your domain are separate costs, confirmed in your scope, and any changes after launch are quoted before we start.
Do I own a SIX9 website?
Once the project is fully paid, the finished website is yours, subject to any third-party platform or licence restrictions.
How long does a SIX9 build take?
Most standard websites are ready within 5–7 business days after we receive your content, images, access and project details.
